As nations across the world struggle to contain the Wuhan coronavirus, they should realize it is also long past time to quarantine the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The people of China must understand that their future under the Communist Party is as outcasts, lepers, pariahs – isolated and quarantined by the civilized world. If that is not the future they want, the time to rise up and overthrow the Communists is now.

The future of China is warehouses stuffed full of rotting and decaying goods no one will buy, accounts filled with money they can’t spend, travel instantly blocked at the first sign of pandemic because that’s the only responsible way for the world to handle the Communist Party.

China is far too opaque, far too dismissive of basic human rights, to be welcomed into reputable international organizations as a full member. The CCP corrupts every organization it joins. It should be expelled from all of them, or relegated to observer status only.

The world is changing at a pace not seen in years, and it is no time to become captives of fear despite the real and immediate dangers we face.

The Wuhan virus and the ensuing panic, at least for a few more weeks, have stagnated the economy and scared global financial markets, accompanied by both collateral, and independent and simultaneous, bad news.

Rumor- and panic-mongers predominate; the rational and reasonable are written-off as naïve and out of it. Hundreds may die in the US, but millions who will not are terrified into anxieties and sleeplessness that they will.

Such deaths are terrible, yes, but let us now focus on a number of silver linings emerging from this crisis.

Oil has crashed to $32 a barrel thanks to a sudden feud between Russia and Saudi Arabia, which comes amid the Covid-19 shock to the global economy. The upshot could bankrupt a lot of U.S. shale companies, if that’s either man’s thinking.

But the U.S. may be the world’s biggest producer but oil is a tiny share of its economy. What America loses in terms of oil-industry wages and profits it gains in lower gas prices for consumers and energy costs for downstream industries.

The strongmen’s desperation is understandable but nothing else about their feud is: Saudi Arabia and Russia have zilch to offer the world except oil and gas.

President Trump has promised to make the media and Democrats rue the fact that Joe Biden’s corruption in Ukraine has been placed off limits.

The president phoned in to Sean Hannity’s Fox News program last night (3/04), just 24 hours after Biden’s return from the dead. While much can still happen to once again alter everyone’s expectations, the former vice president is now seen as the clear frontrunner to win the 2020 Democrat presidential nomination.

Biden’s Burisma-gate stinks to high heaven, and Trump knows it. He also knows the media and the Democrat establishment have so far made the topic verboten during the primary process and that this is an opportunity for him.

When I was a professor of pathology at the University of California San Diego, I was one of the first molecular virologists in the world to work on coronaviruses (the 1970s). I was the first to demonstrate the number of genes the virus contained.

Since then, I have kept up with the coronavirus field and its multiple clinical transfers into the human population (e.g., SARS, MERS), from different animal sources.

The current projections for its expansion in the US are only probable, due to continued insufficient worldwide data.  This advice applies to you if you live in or travel to an infected area, or if the expansion becomes sufficiently widespread throughout the US.

With a sweep of the south and key victories in Minnesota and Massachusetts, the media narrative today (3/04) is all about how Joe Biden is the comeback kid, back from the dead, risen like a Phoenix from the ashes. That sort of thing.

It’s the kind of story the media loves. They love it so much it doesn’t matter whether it’s true, or whether the media was writing Biden off less than a week ago.

The surprise comeback, vindicated frontrunner narrative is going to be pushed so hard by the mainstream press and the Democrat establishment in the coming days, you’ll think Biden’s nomination is pretty much a done deal.

The Democrat leaders and candidates blasted President Trump’s response to the Coronavirus outbreak, just as they blast everything else that he does.

Note that the Dems’ criticism of Trump’s response to the virus is unaccompanied by any specific suggestions. They do suggest spending more money on the problem, though they don’t say how. Maybe they think they can curry favor with the virus by buying it free stuff.

Their demand for more money is not because they’ve talked to medical and other experts and done the math. They don’t even bother to say that they have. No, it’s because they want to be able to say down the road that the contagion grew into a deadly pandemic because Trump messed up.

For that posturing to work, of course, the virus has to grow into a deadly pandemic.  That’s what they want.

Who could have imagined that the debate in Charleston on Tuesday (2/25) would be worse than the previous one, the one in Vegas during which Elizabeth Warren went after Bloomberg with a scythe, Bernie did his wild-eyed crazed thing, and Biden fell flat?

The most appalling aspect of the debate was the sheer childishness of it.

They all talked at once, raising and waving their hands to be called on like second-graders, shouting over one another as if they were guests on the Jerry Springer show.  It was pathetic.

Anyone and everyone watching had to ask themselves, "How on Earth are these seven people the presidential candidates of the Democrat party?"

Given Russia’s lack of a developed highway system, and its increasing difficulties with the use of rivers for transport (Ritmeurasia.org, October 22, 2019), Moscow not only relies more heavily on the country’s long-haul railway network but counts on it to allow Russia to play a key role in trade between China and Europe.

However, because of Moscow’s failure to invest in the maintenance and development of that network, Beijing is increasingly skeptical that Russia can be such a land route. Consequently, China is looking to send its goods either by sea or by routes that bypass the Russian Federation entirely.

So what might seem to be a domestic problem is rapidly becoming an international one for Moscow.  You would not believe how big a problem.

Former New York mayor and multibillionaire Democrat presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg, four years ago at Oxford, England, dismissed farming, ancient and modern.

He lectured that agriculture was little more than the rote labor of dropping seeds into the ground and watching corn sprout — easy, mindless, automatic.

“I could teach anybody,” Bloomberg pontificated, “even people in this room, no offense intended, to be a farmer.”

He contrasted such supposedly unintelligent labor of the past (and present) with the “skill set” of the current “information economy” that requires “how to think and analyze.” In this new economy, he said, “you have to have a lot more gray matter.”

Gray matter?  It’s him and all Dem elitists who need more of that.

Wednesday night's (2/19) Democrat debate in Nevada allowed for a sharp focus on the candidates' personalities.  It wasn't pretty.

They were the six unappealing dwarfs — Supercilious, Shrill, Angry, Confused, Smug...and that unpleasant nameless something that is Klobuchar.

This was Elizabeth Warren's debate, for she aggressively dominated the available airtime.  As the debate progressed, the other candidates fell silent when she spoke out of instinctive deference.  With her hoarse voice and scolding manner, she was every mean old lady that children learn to fear.

President Trump appointed Richard “Ric” Grenell to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the surprise appointment begins immediately.  Within minutes the media intelligence apparatus displayed apoplexy at the announcement.

All of the right administrative state interests are visibly triggered by the appointment; and it appears this could be a key turning point in President Trump’s push-back against the permanent intelligence apparatus that has targeted his administration for three years.

For four years, polling has documented that the president’s strongest support demographic is America’s Orthodox Jews.

The support runs between 70 percent in radical Los Angeles to 90 percent most everywhere else. This has been documented here and here and here and here and here.

Although much of that support stems from a deep affinity with his stands on the whole gamut of traditional American cultural and social issues, an underestimated factor is that community’s natural acquaintance with Borscht Belt humor. Those who “get” that humor know precisely how to understand Trump, what to take seriously, what to brush off, and what deeper messages to take away from his speeches and tweets.

Those who do not get the style and nuance end up completely misunderstanding him and then attacking him for communicating thoughts he never contemplated. Like the Corrupt Journalist Corps.

Transgender ideology can take on a comical character, yet it’s one thing to claim that a man can “identify” as a woman or vice versa. Increasingly we see a dangerous and antiscientific trend toward the outright denial of biological sex.

The argument is that because some people are intersex—they have developmental conditions resulting in ambiguous sex characteristics—the categories male and female exist on a “spectrum,” and are therefore no more than “social constructs.”

If male and female are merely arbitrary groupings, it follows that everyone, regardless of genetics or anatomy should be free to choose to identify as male or female, or to reject sex entirely in favor of a new bespoke “gender identity.”

To characterize this line of reasoning as having no basis in reality would be an egregious understatement. It is false at every conceivable scale of resolution.

Now that Bernie Sanders—once an obscure socialist senator from Vermont—is officially the front-runner for the Democrat presidential nomination, it is time to confront what that means.

It does not mean the U.S. is flirting with socialism. That’s not going to happen. The meaning of Bernie’s ascent is that the Democrat Party, older even than he is, has simply run out of gas.

The Democrats’ floundering to find a candidate is deeper than the split between moderates and the left. It looks to me like the accumulated costs of its long history as the self-declared party of government are finally coming due.

Rachel Maddow fought back tears of rage. Brian Williams struggled to make sense of it all. A former U.S. senator flailed her arms in frustration and indignation.

Their collective panic attack, however, was not caused by the results of the Democrat presidential primary in New Hampshire on Tuesday night (2/11). The electoral tie between an aged socialist and a sinister small-town mayor did not alarm the panelists assembled around the colorful set, shoulders stooped in despair, eyes ablaze.

What triggered them instead is proof it is too late to calm the unhinged: the Left and NeverTrump Right is in full meltdown mode.

Unlike Gaul, the Democrat primary electorate is divided into only two parts.

Bernie Sanders's victory in Tuesday's (2/11) New Hampshire primary reminded observers of what we have known for a long time, namely that the smaller of these two parts remains united in favor of his candidacy for the Democrat presidential nomination.

The larger moderate one remains split, not quite evenly, between Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, Elizabeth Warren, and Joe Biden.

We know which side the Democrat National Committee, the party's leadership in Congress, wealthy mega-donors, and luminaries like the Obamas and the Clintons are on. We also know that they are willing to do pretty much anything to prevent Sanders from winning the nomination in 2020.

The question is whether they will be able to.  It is increasingly doubtful the answer is yes.

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Democrats running for president here in the snow-blanketed hills, valleys, towns and villages of this legendary New England political bellwether need to lighten up a bit.

We all know that politics is a serious business, but not so serious that we can’t share a joke or a quip once in a while. However, humor among this batch of Democrat contenders appears to be in short supply.

If any of the Dem candidate crowd were saying crazy angry things to be funny, that would be one thing. But these Democrats are all serious, all of the time. They are on a mission for change that doesn’t allow for the light touch.  They are all Total Buzzkill.

Just as an aside, it’s pretty funny that Bernie Sanders’ initials are BS.  Why aren’t there bumperstickers saying “BERNIE SANDERS IS BS”?

It took all of ten seconds for the first winner at last night’s Oscars to unleash an angry political statement against President Trump.

Frankly, I’m only surprised it took that long.

Hollywood despises Trump with a volcanic passion despite many of its own leading lights representing exactly the same kind of ruthless, venal, self-aggrandizing, duplicitous, charlatan, narcissistic and hypocritical character traits they claim to see and hate  in him.

But shameless hypocrisy and chronic lack of self-awareness seem to go hand in hand with being a movie star these days.

Now that the four-and-a-half-month-long Ukraine impeachment bookend to the 22-month Mueller charade is over, it clearly accomplished nothing other than substantially raising the polls of both Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

The public was reminded that Representative Gerald Nadler (D-N.Y.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) are every bit as childish, peevish, and absurd as Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.).

Eventually, someone will sort out whether that post-election effort on the part of federal officials to abort the Trump presidency, abetted by the media and #TheResistance, was a simple follow-up to the Clinton-DNC-Perkins Coe-Fusion GPS collusion against candidate Trump.

Or a sick preemptive attempt of the administrative state to smear Trump as a “Russian asset” because of their worries about the exposure of their own prior criminality and Trump’s iconoclastic agenda.

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire — Of all the Democrat caucusgoers I spoke with in Iowa last week, not one told me his or her first choice was Joe Biden. Now I know why: there were never that many Biden supporters in Iowa to begin with.

All of the caucus results might not be in yet, but we know enough to say with confidence that Biden’s campaign in Iowa collapsed.

The big story out of Iowa, then, isn’t necessarily the broken app or the utter incompetence of the Iowa State Democrat Party and the Democrat National Committee (although those are important stories that will likely take on more significance as the cycle goes on).

The big story is that Biden, the presumptive h frontrunner right up until Monday night, might not survive past South Carolina, which has now become his firewall.

President Trump's SOTU speech Tuesday night (2/04) was spectacular on every level.

It was unabashedly pro-American, pro-law-enforcement, pro-border security, pro-religious freedom, pro-life, pro-school choice and pro-the American job and economic comeback, and then some; there was so much more, all of it positive, optimistic.  This president has indeed begun to make America great again.

Despite the Democrats' fervent attempts to see him removed from office, President Trump has succeeded beyond all expectations for the good of the nation.  This is what so enrages the Left; the man has done in three years what they have promised their voters for sixty-plus years but never accomplished -- on purpose.

And they are also as ungracious as any group of people who have ever held office in America.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi yet again embarrassed herself.  This is a woman without an iota of grace or class. She is White Trash.

Adam Schiff may be the darling of leftwing cable news. But like a moth to a candle, the California congressman is sucked into the camera lights, without realizing how he is scorched and consumed.
